What are conversation assignments?
Conversation assignments are a way to track which organizer or admin is assigned to a specific member conversation within your campaign. Once a conversation is assigned, other organizers cannot reply or update the conversation assignment.
What is the difference between Conversation Assignments and Access groups?
- Access groups grant permission for organizers to view conversations in the Inbox. Once Inbox Member Access is granted, Organizers can assign themselves and reply to the conversations, and edit Member record data. Learn how to update Access groups.
- Conversation Assignments designate certain conversations to people on your team. Once a conversation is assigned to a user (Admin or Organizer) other Organizers cannot reply until the conversation is assigned to them.
Will resolving a conversation unassign it?
No. You must unassign conversations individually or using Bulk Actions to change the assignment status.
Who can assign/unassign member conversations?
- Admins can assign member conversations to themselves or any user (including organizers or other admins). Admins can unassign any member conversation.
- Organizers can only assign member conversations to themselves. Organizers can only unassign member conversations that are assigned to them. Organizers cannot re-assign conversations or unassign conversations owned by other users.
Can I auto-assign conversations?
Yes! You can automatically assign conversations to organizers by updating the Inbox Settings in the Flow builder.
Conversation auto-assignments will be assigned round-robin to eligible organizers starting with the last organizer to be assigned a member conversation. Conversations can only be automatically assigned to Organizers.
Assign a Conversation
- Go to the Inbox.
- Navigate into the conversation you’d like to assign.
- Click the Assignment dropdown menu and select the user to assign.
Note: Organizers can only assign conversations to themselves.
Unassign a Conversation
- Go to the Inbox.
- Navigate into the conversation you’d like to unassign.
- Click the Assignment dropdown menu and select unassign.
Note: Organizers can only unassign conversations that are assigned to them.
Reassign a Conversation
- Go to the Inbox.
- Navigate into the conversation you’d like to reassign.
- Click the Assignment dropdown menu and select the user to reassign to.
Note: Organizers cannot reassign conversations.
Can I bulk assign/unassign conversations?
Yep! You can select multiple conversations at once and Apply Bulk Actions directly in the Inbox. When bulk assigning conversations you have two options:
- Assign conversations to organizers using existing Access Group permissions. These groups will appear in the user select dropdown by default. Any access groups that appear have organizers with permission with the member conversations selected.
- Assign conversations to organizers that do not have permissions by toggling All Access Groups. This will display all of your access groups and make the organizers in them selectable. Once the users or groups are selected, you will be prompted to create a new access group to track these new permissions.
Note: When assigning multiple conversations to multiple organizers, Strive will assign conversations round-robin, distributing assignments amongst the selected users as evenly as possible.
Bulk Assign Conversations
- Go to the Inbox.
- Select the conversations you’d like to assign in the conversation preview pane.
- Click Apply Bulk Actions.
- Select the user(s) to assign. By default Strive will only display organizers in Access groups that have existing view/reply permissions.
- To assign to organizers that do not have existing Access group permissions to the selected member conversations, toggle All Access Groups. All Access groups will appear with their associated organizers. Strive will prompt you to name a new Access group in order to grant view/reply permissions and assign the selected member conversations.
Note: Organizers can only bulk assign conversations to themselves.
Bulk Unassign Conversations
- Go to the Inbox.
- Select the conversations you’d like to unassign in the conversation preview pane.
- Click Apply Bulk Actions.
- Select unassign.
Note: Organizers can only bulk unassign conversations that are assigned to them.
Bulk Reassign Conversations
- Go to the Inbox.
- Select the conversations you’d like to reassign in the conversation preview pane.
- Click Apply Bulk Actions.
- Select the user(s) to reassign. By default Strive will only display organizers in Access groups that have existing view/reply permissions.
- To assign to organizers that do not have existing Access group permissions to the selected member conversations, toggle All Access Groups.
